About cookies

It is possible to use the website if you have cookies blocked, but some functions work better if session cookies (information below) are allowed.

Session cookie
A session cookie is a temporary cookie, which means that it disappears when you close the browser. There is no saved information on your computer after the session has ended. There are some different session cookies on the website.

  • A cookie called “pll_language” that only contains data about which language is active on the website. The content of the cookie can, for example, look like this: “sv” for the Swedish language. The cookie is used to remember which language you last selected.
  • A cookie called “wp_lang” that only contains data about which language is active on the website. The content of the cookie can look like this, for example: “sv_SE” for the Swedish language. The cookie is used to remember which language you last selected.
  • A cookie called “wordpress_test_cookie” that only contains data about whether the browser has activated support for cookies. The content of the cookie can for example look like this : “WP%20Cookie%20check”.
  • A cookie called “hide_alert_message” which saves if you closed “Important message” which sometimes appears in a box at the top of the screen. The content of the cookie can be, for example, “1”. The cookie prevents the message box from appearing on every page you visit if you have closed it.
  • A cookie called “_rspkrLoadCore” used as an initialization cookie that determines whether or not to load the ReadSpeaker script when the page is loaded. The cookie is set after the service has been activated, i.e. when you have interacted with the player.
The use of this cookie is so that we know that the user has activated the ReadSpeaker service on a page. This way, we automatically load the ReadSpeaker scripts when the user navigates to another page, so that the user gets the audio faster.
  • A cookie called “ReadSpeakerSettings” used to save users’ individual settings in the ReadSpeaker settings menu, so that they do not have to redo their settings on every page they navigate to.
  • A cookie called “jo_rs_active” used to determine whether the user has activated text to speech.

The content of session cookies refers to the current session, but has no connection to a particular user. A new content is generated every session. We therefore do not save any personal information at all.
