Severe criticism of the Social Welfare Committee in Pajala Municipality for the delay in enforcing an intervention pursuant to the Act on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments after a court referred the matter back for further processing and a new decision

Summary of the decision: An individual appealed against a decision by a municipal committee concerning where an approved housing intervention pursuant to the Act (1993:387) on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments was to be enforced. The court overruled the decision and referred the matter back to the committee for a new enforcement decision. The committee remained passive for almost a year after the judgement was delivered. The intervention had still not been enforced when the committee submitted its opinion to the Parliamentary Ombudsman, by which time almost one year and eight months had passed since the judgement was delivered.

All things considered, the Parliamentary Ombudsman is of the opinion that the committee is deserving of severe criticism for the delay in enforcing the housing intervention, and for documenting the enforcement case in a highly deficient manner.
